We had Russ as our videographer at our wedding to capture all the precious moments of the day. On the day, he made everyone feel so comfortable and he is so so friendly! We just had our videos back and wow they are absolutely amazing, not to mention everyone was in tears (happy tears) watching the videos! I’m so glad I had Russ there to capture every single moment. As a bride, I was so nervous on the day so I can’t remember much from the day, I just knew it was amazing! But having the videos to look back on is just such a great idea. Love all the highlights of the day, ceremony and speeches! If you are getting married or having an event, I would 100% recommend Russ as your photographer/videographer!

We chose Russ as our wedding photographer for late October last year. Upon meeting him we discovered just how enthusiastic and knowledgeable he is and were able to discuss exactly what we wanted capturing on our big day. Russ even kindly offered to do an engagement shoot for us to get an idea of the area around our venue. Both me and my husband are quite camera shy, but Russ put us at ease right away and was really easy to get on with. Unfortunately on the big day it was chucking it down, but Russ didn't let it ruin the photos. He skillfully managed to get some under a canopy that looked as though we were surrounded by greenery and he even managed to take some fantastic sparkler pictures on the night. He directed our family and friends perfectly and everybody thought he was fantastic on the day. It felt like we had a two for one photographer and wedding coordinator. Sadly there was a bit of confusion getting all the photos I wanted sent to me, but after the busy Christmas period, Russ was able to sort things out and rectify the problem. The photos we recieved are truly stunning and we love the fact that Russ was able to capture those 'in the moment' shots, without us even being aware. Overall, Russ is a great guy who knows exactly what he is doing and will capture your big day perfectly.

From the prep beforehand and throughout the actual day Russ was professional and guided us with expertise and humour. The photos are more than I could have imagined and gave me the insight into the arrivals and prep that I had been unable to experience on the day. I have laughed and cried my way through the slideshow of all photos and am looking forward to reliving the best day of my life over and over again.

We were quite specific in our requirements as we both don't like lots of photos. Russ made it extra special with lots of natural shots that we both agree look amazing. Even out guests commented on how amazing the photographer was and how he made them feel really comfortable.

Russ photographed our wedding back in July 2023 from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast. Wow, where to begin. From the first meeting to the wedding day Russ was fantastic and very supportive throughout the process. Russ is brilliant! I came to him when I entered the L'Oreal colour trophy (hairdressing competition) and I got through, which wouldn't have been possible without Russ and all his help!!! A photographer is a major part of your Wedding day and Russ was a huge part of our day, how often do you hear guests commenting what a great photographer he is, before they have even seen a single picture!! When you see Russ work it's easy because Russ has the gift of putting people at ease, nothing it too much trouble, he's patient and he's conscientious and always looking to get the shot. He knows how to organise a crowd and get everyone in the right place at the right time and more importantly wanting to be in the picture. He is more than a photographer, if Russ can help he will, If you cannot tie a double Windsor knot, Russ can, not sure which side your button hole goes on, Russ does. He simply knows all things wedding, inside and out. Just a great guy to have on the team. Onto the actual pictures, despite him being 6 foot plus he is very unobtrusive some the of the candid shots we got are sensational, perfectly capturing our wedding day, it was obvious that Russ had done his homework on the Wedding Venue, there was no pauses whilst he thought of what would make a good shot, he knew what would work because he has done his research prior to our Wedding. I'm not sure many photographers put in that level of research prior to the wedding. He is always happy to make sure that you get the pics you want, A picture of the bride with visiting relatives, Russ will get the shot. Kids being kids not a problem as Russ knows how to get them on his side, the results prove that. The picture composition is excellent and to be honest Russ is just a great guy to have around, he has lots of unique ideas and is always willing to work with you to get the pictures you want to capture your day. You simply cannot go wrong with Russ. Not really sure how you've got this far down the review because you really should be booking him by this point!!!

Where do I start. From first contacting Russ about photographing our wedding I knew he was different from other photographers. Most talk about money first but Russ just wanted to meet us and get to know us and what we wanted. We instantly felt he was the one for us. He is just a genuinely lovely person. On our wedding day everyone commented in how nice he was and how laid back he was. He organised everyone for photographs but he just did it with no drama and in such a fun way. He has taken lots of beautiful photographs and we are so pleased with them. Thank Russ for capturing our wedding and being part of our special day. I will certainly recommend to anyone who requires a photographer.

I have worked with Russ a handful of times in the past and I cannot wait to work with him again in the near future! Russ , shot our wedding on 2nd of July in Leeds.. I have known Russ for 10 years and he was my go to guy as I have seen his work .... he did an outstanding job and to be honest he felt like one of the guests..... all of our guests commented on what a great guy he is .... Russ helped us celebrate our special day 21.06.2024. He was getting involved with all our friends and family ensuring they were having the most amazing day like us! Well, what can we say about Russ. On meeting him, we soon realised he was the right choice for us! Russ accommodated the most precious request of secretly following my wife to the cemetery in her wedding car so she could see her mum on our special day & capture that forever (all kept a secret from her). Without question this wasn't an issue, for that we are eternally greatful. Russ 'captured our day' and the most special moments, something we will treasure forever! Russ is amazing! I came across his services using Hitched and I couldn't be happier with the service he provided. He was attentive to every aspect of the day. He was very personable, friendly, helpful, and honestly felt like he was another friend attending the wedding. He fit in so nicely to the day, blended into the background to take the best candid pictures and also directed so professionally and appropriately when the group photos were ready to be taken. As much as we hired Russ to be the photographer, he was just so helpful in every aspect. I'd forget my bouquet, he'd run and get it. I needed wipes for my daughter, he'd grab them. If I didn't know what time we were cutting the cake, he'd check. He went above and beyond his responsibilities and he did everything with the biggest smile on his face. He made the whole day run smoothly. Not only that, and the reason for hiring, the pictures are better than we ever could have imagined. He captured so much emotion and love! Russ photogprahed our wedding in June 2025 and was amazing! From the very first meeting with Russ, we knew we were in safe hands. He instantly made us feel at ease and took the time to talk through what we wanted from our wedding photography. When we weren’t quite sure about certain things, Russ offered thoughtful suggestions and was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. Communication with Russ was excellent whenever we had questions or needed anything, we could send him an email and he would get back to us as soon as he could. As the big day approached, we had a detailed phone call with him to go over the plan. He asked what specific shots we were hoping for and explained how he would approach the day, which really helped calm any nerves. On the day itself, Russ was fantastic. He blended in perfectly, chatting with guests and capturing so many natural, beautiful moments. If someone asked for a photo or we suddenly wanted a random shot, nothing was too much trouble – he was more than happy to accommodate. So many of our guests came up to us during the day and afterwards to say how fantastic Russ was – not only as a photographer, but as a genuinely kind and friendly person who added to the joy of the day. Russ was incredibly knowledgeable about what would look good in a photo. He took everything into consideration – lighting, background, positioning – and you could really tell he knew exactly how to get the best possible shots without making anything feel staged or forced. Looking through our photos, we were especially thrilled by how many natural, candid moments he captured – everyone is laughing, smiling, and clearly enjoying themselves, which is exactly what we had hoped for. The photos from the speeches are absolutely amazing – so full of emotion and joy, they really bring the moment back to life. One moment that really stood out to us was when I found out my university degree result on the day. Russ noticed what was happening, followed us, and managed to capture that emotional moment perfectly. The photos from that are incredible and mean so much to us – it’s such a personal memory to have documented forever. When we received our full gallery, we were blown away. The quality is outstanding, and we love that we have the option to enjoy them in both colour and black & white. We chose Capture the Day for our wedding and we are so pleased that we did. Russ suggested that we visit the venue together beforehand so he could get a feel for the place and have prior knowledge of the best places for the range of different photos, so that it was clear on the actual day. This made us feel more relaxed on the day itself as we were all familiar with the building and gardens. Russ is a complete professional but also absolutely lovely and brought a sense of fun and humour to the day which was extremely welcomed and put us both at ease. Russ was with us from the start of the day to the very end, having even offered to provide a photo booth style area for our evening guests. I cannot recommend him highly enough and we were so impressed with the end result that we have since booked him for more family events to capture those precious moments.
